As the Country Manager – India, you will lead the growth, operations, and strategic presence of TrueLeap in one of the most dynamic education-technology markets globally. You will act as the senior executive for TrueLeap’s India market: setting strategy, building partnerships, shaping operations, driving revenue, and ensuring that our global mission is executed locally. This role demands high-impact leadership, deep market insight, strong execution capabilities, and an ability to connect with both public-sector and private-sector stakeholders across the education, workforce, and digital-access domains.Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Market Strategy
Develop and implement TrueLeap’s India market strategy, fully aligned with the company’s global vision of building the knowledge-economy infrastructure. - Business Development & Growth
Identify new business models, markets, and segments (education institutions, government initiatives, enterprise learning, rural/underserved regions) to drive growth and scale - Partnerships & Alliances
Build and nurture relationships with government ministries, regulatory bodies, universities, skilling institutions, NGOs, technology partners, and large enterprise customers. Strengthen the TrueLeap ecosystem in India. - Product & Solution Deployment Oversight
Ensure the effective deployment and localization of TrueLeap’s product portfolio (e.g., SaaS / PaaS learning platforms, AI-edge devices, last-mile kits) in India, adapting to local needs and infrastructure constraints. - Revenue & P&L Ownership
Own the India P&L: set targets, monitor business performance metrics, drive profitability, and ensure sustainable business model execution in line with global goals - Team Leadership & Operations
Recruit, build, and lead the India team (business development, partnerships, operations, marketing, delivery). Oversee operational functions and ensure localization of processes, while maintaining global standards. - Brand & Thought Leadership
Serve as the public face of TrueLeap in India — represent the company at industry events, conferences, forums; promote the “knowledge-economy infrastructure” message; strengthen brand presence across public and private sectors. - Governance, Compliance & Local Ecosystem
Navigate regulatory, compliance, and market-entry issues in India; ensure adherence to local laws, data-privacy/regulation requirements, and align with TrueLeap’s global ethics and practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in an executive leadership or country-manager/GM role within EdTech, SaaS, technology-driven education, or workforce-skilling industry.
- Demonstrated success in business expansion and growth (particularly in India or emerging markets), with a track record of launching or scaling operations, building sustainable partnerships, achieving revenues, and managing P&L.
- Deep understanding of the Indian education ecosystem (K-12, higher-ed, skilling, government schemes), digital learning trends, technology adoption in underserved areas, and last-mile access challenges.
- Strong strategic thinking, communication, negotiation and stakeholdermanagement skills — able to interface with senior government officials, large enterprises, institutional leaders, and ecosystem partners.
- Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams, manage remote operations, and deliver business outcomes in a dynamic market environment.
- Familiar with modern SaaS/PaaS/business technology platforms, analytics frameworks, and remote collaboration tools.
- Willingness to travel across India (and occasionally internationally) as needed to build and oversee operations, partnerships and delivery.
Commitment & Compensation
This is a senior executive contract role; compensation will be structured to reflect the scope of leadership, market impact, and performance metrics. The package will be competitive in the market and aligned with TrueLeap’s global executive compensation philosophy.
